DS has locked his flipping phone...

by putting in the wrong pin code...

it is a samsung lg something...

what do i do?

You should have a second "pin" called a "puk" (or it is here, not sure if it has a different name in UK).

Have a look at the info stuff that came with the phone, it should be on there along with the info how to unlock it.

A friend of mine posted the following link on facebook the other day, apparently it's pretty useful in this situation!

thanks guys - ds has stashed instructions somewhere and i can't find them (though have only done casual sweep of the territory)- he thrust the phone at me, blurted "ican'trememberthecodeandnowithaslockedmeoutandcanyoufixitformepleeeeeaaaasssssee" burst into tears ( and ran out the door to school...

it appears that he has buggered about so much that he has disabled the SIM card

can i get it reactivated or does he need another one? (i am unsure as to whom the phone is registered so can't call the network provider til i find out )

Some operators brand the sim card, so you might be able to guess what the operator is by opening up the phone and finding the sim card.

Only the network provider can unlock the sim unfortunately, so if you can't find out who it is - it's new sim time.
