Help screen cracked

My beloved ACER notepad just slipped off my desk onto tiled floor. The screen seems to have smashed internally-ie no broken glass outside but it looks terrible. Otherwise works OK. Can I go on using it safely for a while? Can you get inside screens replaced easily/cheaply? How much? Would it be better to get a new one (original cost about 250 from PC world)
Any suggestions appreciated.

To be honest a lot of the times its not worth repairing. Not unless its new. By the time you factor in the parts & labour its not worth it.

Is it covered under home contents insurance?

Thanks, not sure about insurance-I'll look. Just wondered if anyone had gone to PC world or similar to get one repaired?

Bought a new screen for my laptop for about £80 off Ebay and my Brother fitted it. This would only work if someone can fit it. Was pretty easy by the looks of it!

Be careful using it, my friends screen broke recently and it blew up when her son was using it and gave him an electric shock.

Yes if you can get a screen from ebay and fit it yourself (or a mate) then it could work out worth it.

It's not something I'd recommend to someone with little technical knowledge. Sometimes I struggle to get into laptops as they have all sorts of clips, funny screws all over the place.

DCs sat on my laptop and cracked the screen (Toshiba Satellite) We got a replacement for around £65 from ebay and we swapped it over ourselves. It was slightly fiddly - small screws, and had to look up a YouTube tutorial to confirm that you had to use a lot of force to get the frame off, but took maybe half an hour at the most? DH does rebuild PCs and consoles as a hobby so had enough experience not to be nervous about doing it, but it was pretty simple tbh.

Oh and my screen originally cracked around February last year, but I used it until Christmas (couldn't afford the new screen until then)
