Can I use an iPhone3 charger on a iPod Touch (4th gen)

That's it really.

I've been given an apple charger which was for an iPhone 3. Can I use it to charge dd's new (4th gen, I think) iPod Touch?

does it fit? our charger does the touch, the 3g and the ipad

I'd say almost certainly yes, we use the chargers we've had for iPhone2 and 1st ipod touch on iPhone 4 and new ipod touch so can't think iPhone3 will be any different. If it fits it'll work.

I was just rather paranoid that if I connected it without knowing whether it was compatable or not I might end up blowing it up doing some damage.

Yes it will be fine. All Apple chargers for the last few years have been the same (except for the Shuffle).

The only exception is the iPad which uses same connector but requires more current to charge. Stick the ipad into a normal USB port and you just get told it isn't charging!

No damage though. You'll be fine.
