How can I lock down the computer for use by DD1?

3yo DD1 loves to play on cbeebies and reading eggs (and youtube, although I appreciate that will always need strict supervision) - is there a way I can lock down her "area" on the computer so that she can get on with it for short periods while I potter round/look after DD2?

Maybe paint and word would be useful for her too.

Obviously chat etc isn't such a worry, it is more her clicking around and accidentally finding a dodgy site, or deleting something somehow.

On a Windows based system it seems to be quite hard to lock it down fully.

One thing is to create a log in especially for them.

There are various browser add-ons which can help restrict access - these often work with the FireFox browser.

You could use a service like Pikluk - free version I think is for 1 child, costs for additional children.

reading eggs? What is that?
