How do I backup my itunes??? My computer is dying

I think I am going to lose all my carefully uploaded and bought music as my computer is now grinding to a halt.

So, I need to back up my itunes but I don't want to load it onto loads of discs (is this even possible?). I have an external hard drive that I bought yesterday and would really like to transfer all the files to this and then reupload them onto my laptop before this desktop crashes once and for all.

I have absolutely no idea where to start.

You can just put it all onto your ipod (if you have one) or an external hard drive. Well worth buying one if you don't have one already, they're not that expensive and you can back up your entire computer - photos etc.

Hi, I've bought the external hard drive but can't see how to save it all the drive.

The instructions on the page that I linked to above guide you through that.

Very basically you use iTunes to find out where it stores it's music and then you copy that folder to the external drive.

Ok I have hit a glitchy. It says there is not enough room on C:/ to save my itunes media file.

What do I need to delete first do you think??
