How much memory will a 30 minute video use?

Not even sure if I am asking the right question there! I failed to take any photos of my child's nativity as my camera broke. A mum at school took a video with a camcorder, and has offered to copy it for me if I give her a memory stick. I have a 1GB memory stick which I have emptied - will it be big enough or do I need to find another way to copy the video?

Should be, unless she's recorded it on some weird ultra high quality format. To compare, a reasonable quality 45 minute TV episode on my HD only takes up 350MB, so I can't see how it would be fine Smile

'can't see how it wouldn't be fine' sorry!

without knowing the resolution it isn't possible to guess.

Try it with the usb stick - and if it doesn't fit then ask her to put it on a dvd.

BBC shows of 30 minutes are usually around 300 MB.

I don't remember how much space their HD shows take for 30 minutes but I'd guess at 2.25 times the size (ie nearly 700 MB) so hopefully there will be no problem.
