As title says can't get on line at all with laptop. Internet explorer keeps telling me there is a connection error but broadband is working fine. Tried mobile broadband but still cant get on. Have done a system restore back a few days to see if that helps but no joy.

Laptop is only 3 weeks old, can anyone help please.

On my laptop there is a slidey switch (technical term) that enables the wireless connection. I had the same problem as you - wireless clearly there on my iPhone, etc., but laptop said no - and it took HOURS before I happened to spot the slidey switch which I must have knocked.

Could that have happened, maybe?

Down on the bottom task bar (the blue bit) on the right hand side there's probably be a symbol with what looiks like two computer screens. If you right click on that a menu will come up and you can click on 'repair'

I have an icon display above my functions keys that needs to be alight - it looks like a donut with a spear thru' it. Knocked it off last night by mistake and so just dicovered it's function Smile.

Sorry just home, WiFi is enabled, I have tried it being physically connected to broadband box, can't remember name of wire but nothing. It was workying fine this morning and then it just wouldn't connect to internet. I've tried clicking on diagnose connection problem where it says internet explorer can't display page but that comes back there is no problem. If I click on Google it tells me address invalid, its like Internet explorer has just vanished.

Have done that it still doesn't work, even the Vodafone dongle doesn't work. Am at a total loss at what to do now.

Is that easier/better to use than Internet Explorer?
Is it less likely to do what Explorer has done today?
