Editing digital photos - easiest way to do it?

I foolishly gave MIL our camera at DS1's birthday party and hoped that we might get a couple of good ones - I was wrong!

I don't know how she's done it, but they are all blurred and / or have red eye.

I've never tried to edit photos before - can anyone suggest the easiest way to do it please?

If you've got a Mac then iPhoto is a great tool for most of the editing you'd want to do with Photos.

GIMP is a great and free image processor for both PC and Mac, but I suspect it's far too much for what you want to do.

No Mac I'm afraid.

I need something really simple and straightforward just to try and salvage a photo or two of ds at his party!
