firefox 4.0b7 is out. Thought I'd give it a bit of a go on the netbook and so far it seems much faster than 3.67. Esp on loading up. Have had one crash already but it is a beta.

I'm on 3.6.12 which seems to be fine... Might have to give the 4 beta a go though.

Anything new or startling about it?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/11/2010 17:54

no, apart from its load up time is much better. Some cosmetic changes and you can group tabs which could be handy.

A business contact has been using the beta releases sine they started and says they;'re noticeably faster.

He is an IT support tech in a small firm and their secretary/ receptionist is also using it.

They would have returned to v3.x if there were any significant problems.

That is good to know :) I won't shift over on the main computer until the met office weather gadget works ok, I'll try it out when I'm feeling quite patient.

Will my plugins still work - in particular: AdBlock Plus, Web Developer, Firebug and Page Speed.

That's a lmgtfy question isn't it? But I can't find Web Developer and that's the one I need the most. Actually, that crashes my current FF 3.6.12 sometimes so I might wait until I'm certain it's stable.

In my defense I have a bad cold and have just eaten cereal for lunch whilst working in my pyjamas on the sofa. I am feeling VERY sorry for myself. Especially because I have to get this done and am not doing a good job of staying focused.

abp does but a few of mine don't including met office weather gadget. Fortunately my install didnt wipe over firefox 3.6 so I've got both on my desk top

hope you feel better soon!

That's good to know (having both on the desktop). I'd like to get FF 3.0 running as it can misbehave and it'd be nice to have it local.

I would love an easy way to test on IE, too, if you know of one. I use my son's computer for IE8 but have to use crossbrowsertesting.com for the rest - not sure that's the best way though.

Thanks! :)
