How do I get the internet on my laptop with a hub?

Apologies for being a bit thick, I'm sure everyone else knows how to do this...

We have a PC with internet, it has a BT home hub. I also have a laptop that I do my work on which does not have internet. How would I get the net on this? Would I need wires, and would I need to pay more to BT?

You should need to pay no more.

The home hub should offer wireless access assuming your laptop has wireless built in (depends on age and original cost really).

Sme hubs show an 'encryption key' on a label on the base. I don't use BT and have never seen a Home Hub so am at a bit of a loss as to what is guaranteed to be supported... but take it one step at a time... find out if laptop (what make and model please?) has wireless built in...
