Basically I want an Ebook but would like it to do a bit more.

I want to browse the net, have some sort of function for writing and maybe games. But, mainly to read books.

I have been looking at

Archos
Android

Any ideas? Are there any really good tablets out there for under £200?

Under £200? No, don't think so.

Kindle has a rudimentary browser, I don't know about Sony eReader, myself.

The Samsung Galaxy tablet is smaller and not as good as the iPad but £100 dearer.

The Kindle browser is VERY basic. I tried to use MN on it, but it was pretty useless. Even the mobile website.

I know two people with a Kindle (just for reading) and they both adore them, sing their praises.

Rhian
I love my Kindle, but it is absolutely pants for browsing the web.

For that I use my iPad, which is fab for everything, but you won't get one for £200. Sadly.

Thanks all. We have been looking at the Ipad and can get it from the States for under £400. Is it not a bit big for reading books on though?

We were looking at Archos but they dont seem to be much good!

I use my iPad a lot for reading at the moment as it is backlit so I can read in bed without disturbing DH when he is already sleeping.

Another advantage is that it is much easier to search for books on the Amazon website than through the Kindle.

Kindle is the best as a book reader.
