Have come over to the dark side and after two years of drooling been bought a proper phone by dh (early Christmas present and I feel so very lucky to have such a lovely item)

has any one else got a windows 7 phone? any apps that you love (they are a bit limited at the moment) I'm still marvelling that my phone can plot me on a map and tell me how to get to the nearest pub

I would recommend you try the link from a laptop or home PC first as it will show your IP address and ISP. Then, when you connect using your phone, you can check it is connected on Wi-Fi not via the mobile network as the IP and ISP should be reported the same as for the laptop.

If you get something different, there's a chance the connection is on the mobile phone.

On my (old) Windows Mobile phone (Samsung, I think, it isn't working at present) there was a menu item called Comms Manager (or similar) which allowed user to enable/ disable the Phone (mobile network), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and one or two other things. Hope that you find the link useful.
