DH managed to download a virus Angry despite me having a good antivirus programme.

I thought I had got rid of it, reset computer to last known date it was running ok, ran malware package and got rid of 18 malware programmes, yet I'm still getting bloody pop ups for porn sites Angry

Any ideas what else I can do, I really don;t want to have to run the start up disk as would lose loads of stuff! Please help.

I'm not sure what malware checker you use but I'd recommend giving this a go:
www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php

Yes adaware will help.

Then get freeAVG (www.freeavg.com I think from memory - google it).

And what do you mean by 'good' AV software, if it was good it would have caught the nasties Wink

MalwareBytes - link goes directly to download page on FileForum.

The key to getting rid of things is often to run several different programs.

Another is SpyBot-SD

Reboot machine between running each Malware scanner.

It is a good AV, however my wanker DH tried to look at porn and got one of those cleverer than the average bloke viruses that disguise themselves as an AV. He is in the doghouse for killing my laptop.

Have ran malwarebytes yesterday and spybot now, thanks for the advice. Hopefully it won't happen anymore.

I would say 'better porn than prossies because he won't pick up diseases' but in the circumstances Wink

haha!

I've had to do a master reset Angry. Parental control will now be activated when he wants to use my laptop.
