Htc desire hd or iphone 4?

I'm due an upgrade in the mid future and have been looking at upgrade options. What do you reckon to these 2? I have a HTC hero atm which I bought from ebay after getting very bored with my s60 nokia.

The camera on the hero is shiteola, although I do like it overall. I'm all of a dither. I'm actually tempted by the nokia n8 or blackberry torch too, although I think the symbian v whatever will still be a bit clunky and out dated, it does have outstanding hardware and camera though.

I should actually just cancel the contract and soldier on with the hero on payg, but the lure of the smartphone is strong . Also if I cancel this contract, which I have had for about 5 years I will never get another due to shit credit rating.

I think the desire hd is winning atm, but I have never owned anything apple and am quite tempted by the iphone 4, but 2 years is a long time.

I don't know about those two phones, but I recently got a Samsung Galaxy S and couldn't sing its praises higher. I too was very tempted by a smartphone which is why I picked this one. The camera is brilliant and it ticks all the boxes. To be honest, I know nothing about phone specs so DP picked for me (as he picked the same for himself).

My mum has the iPhone 4, personally I think mine is better aesthetically, though she disagrees. She thinks hers looks more expensive, but it is slightly smaller (but thicker) and heavier. I also think hers is a bit more difficult to manouevre around the apps etc, but I guess I'm used to mine so I would say that.

The benefit of the Samsung over an iphone is that there are such a lot of good free things, apps, games, etc for the galaxy, and you have to pay for everything on the iphone.

If I were going touchy, I would get a samsung over an iphone.

i live my desire. it's a lot more configurable than an iP4 too

remember that iphone doesn't support flash. for videos desire is better

The HTC Desire HD is a typical Android phone.

On paper, the specs are great. It's got a huge screen, Android looks very sexy. The CPU is fast and it supports Flash.

I really want to like Android but every time I've played with it, it just comes up short compared with Apple.

From what I've read, the HTC Desire has a terrible battery life. A mate of mine who has it says that its true too.

My rule of thumb now is that if you like being on the cutting edge of phone technology and are happy to live with bugs, shortcomings and/or can't afford an iphone then the HTC Desire HD is fantastic.

If you can afford it and/or want a phone which just works.....go for the iphone.

Oh and forget a Symbian phone. Even Nokia are junking it and moving to Windows phone.
