In car movies - can I use my iphone to run them

Hi our in-car DVD screens have finally given up the ghost. I wondered if I downloaded films onto my iphone whether I could attach two slave screens in the car and run them that way? Anyone know where I should start?

In principle it should be possible: there's a composite video output available. The quality might be a bit marginal and you'd need some means to get two composite video feeds from one (might need to be an active device, as I doubt the iPhone has an excess of power), and these days screens that have a composite video input might actually be more expensive than just buying new setup. After all, all you're saving the DVD player bit, which is not the main cost. I suspect it's one of those things which is quite a major DIY project.

There's some details about doing it here.

Gosh this sounds incredibly complicated (As I am no techy). I thought I might just be able to get an adapter to stick into the ipod and the plug into the screens).
