my new phone arrived today. it is a pay as you go from orange. i hve put the SIM in and followed the instruction to activate it online. it said it could take up to two hours to activate. i did this before 1pm and still nothing. i can't contact orange on teh phone as it says i am not registered on network and i don't have a number to contact them from my landline.

any advice?

Did you get given a phone number? if yes then take the battery and sim out and then put it back together and switch on> should work?
( used to work for them)

Why two numbers ... weird. is the sim card def in the correct way round. metal part of sim touching metal contacts on the phone?
not trying to patronise just trying to think why. land line number is 0800 079 0006

booooooooooyhoo · 14/10/2010 22:56

not patronising! i did double check myself just incase Grin

i don't know why i got two numbers. i tried to activate my account online and was given one number then when i tried to select my tarriff (dolphin etc) it said the number wasn't recognised by orange so i rang teh number (teh same as you have given me) and they gave me a new number so i treid to activate again and it said i had to enter an 8 digit PIN that would get sent to my phone. no PIN arrived so i clicked the bit that it said to and it said it had resent, again no pin so i did again and it said this was the final time it could send the pin. it didn't arrive so i phoned the number and it was only for getting your number and couldn't help me so i emailed them. still no response.

try 07973100450 from a landline (charged at a mob rate though)
but i would phone the 08000790006 and ask them to transfer you
good luck
