go about finding an internship in IT/computer science?

My friend's son is looking for an Internship around next June for two months. He is looking for work experience in the area of Computer Science / IT as part of his degree course - it needs to be some form of technical work.

He is French and is hoping to improve his English too.

Gumtree, that's the best in my experience. While also sending his CV and a covering letter to as many companies as possible and repeatedly. Sometimes its hard to get an internship if you don't know someone in the business but its not impossible, surely his uni could offer some help?

Many companies also have an internship programme so look in to that. It may take a while and he may not get a reply to every offer but don't give up though!
