iPod Touch - can't access inbox in Mail

I have gmail on my iPod touch and suddenly o can't access the inbox. Normally, you can access the inbox from an individual message but that part seems to have gone. Have fiddled around in settings but can't see anything obvious there.

Can't work out any way to delete it and start again either. Any suggestions?

Not sure what you mean by 'access the inbox from an individual message' - (as I don't have an iPod Touch or similar, I am guessing this may be from a GMail app [?])

but can you not visit http://mail.google.com/mail/ in the web browser to access your e-mail ?

I managed to sort it out by using the time honoured method of switching it off and switching it on again .

There is a gmail app which is more user friendly than using mail in safari and although I could see the messages, I couldn't see the overall inbox. But is all sorted now.

Yes, I do that (switch off, then on again) from time to time. I have been involved in IT for 30+ years, and it sometimes seems the only way to sort out some problems, even now!
