New Ipod Touch - is the 8gb realistically big enough?

There is such a huge jump in price between the 8gb and the 32gb (why no 16gb??) of about £60 and I'm wondering whether I can get away with the 8gb or whether I'd seriously regret it.

Any ideas of what a 8 actually holds in comparison with the 32?

Any thoughts?

I have an 8g Nano and currently have 23 hours of music on there and it's only about a quater full.

HTH.

I've got a 16gb Touch and it's got about 1,500 songs on it, 1,200 photos and a few apps.

Personally I find the space a bit of a struggle, but then I do record my music at higher than standard quality which takes up more space.

Two of my kids have 8Gb Touchs, and they filled them up in a year. I decided to make the latest purchase 32Mb - I think in a moment of weakness.

If it was just music then an 8gb would probably do you, if you didn't mind deleting older stuff after a while.
But with a touch you tend to download so much, loads of games and apps that an 8gb wouldn't last long.If you have children they will also help you fill it with downloads.
I have stories and childrens games that are useful when waiting anywhere.
I've got a 64gb and have used about 12gb since january.

I'm actually considering it for my dd so she'll most probably put lots of apps on there, not just music.

Looks like I won't get away with the 8gb ...

Thanks for your help Smile
