Geeky stuff

Please recommend paper for colour printing that won't wrinkle

I'm printing A4 colour posters. They use a lot of ink so ordinary copier/printer paper just gets too soggy and wrinkles.

I don't need them to be shiny or anything fancy, just look good quality without costing an arm and a leg.

Any suggestions?

DH (a printer) suggests a photo quality paper such as Ilford Satin or something like a 160gsm matt coated paper. He also says if it is ink jet it will still get a bit wrinkled.

Alternatively, he is happy to print some for you for 14p per A4 plus postage seeing as it is mumsnet. ;-) If you want to, email me on llareggubmn at gmail dot com

Thanks llareggub I've used photo paper which works but it's so expensive! I can only claim 4p per sheet (charity rules) so with the ink etc I end up spending a fortune.

I have regular print runs and I can claim actual costs if I use a Print co. so I will email you when I've an idea of how much printing & got treasurer's approval. I am currently getting quotes for some other printing so will ask about that too Smile

I'm London way so may be able to collect??

I'm afraid we're in the Midlands so difficult for you to collect unless you fancy taking a trip into the countryside! Postage shouldn't add much though.

Drop me an email and we'll help as much as we can. We are often able to work something out for charities.

lol yes Midlands is a bit far!

I will drop you an email next week after I've spoken to relevent people. I do think we should pay a fair price as you're not a charity even if we are.

I think we're quite keen to get lots of printing done before the VAT hike in Jan.
