Best free anti virus?

My anti virus has run out and i am skint.

Does anybody know if any of the free ones you can download are any good? Even just to tide me over until i can afford to pay for one.

I use Avast, and have found it good. No need to buy one!

AVG definitely - would use it in preference to a paid anti-virus.

Will be a relief not to pay for it..

If you go for AVG, be careful to get the truly free version and not the free trial - they can be a bit sneaky.

Don't forget the Microsoft do Security Essentials as well for PCs.

I use that and AVG. What one doesn't get, the other does!
