What I'd like you to do is measure the time it takes you to is start with your iPhone off, switch it on, start Safari, go to mumsnet (which presumably you have bookmarked), login, browse to this thread, post a single word reply and then load up the active conversations page.

Thanks in advance anyone bored kind enough to take part. And no, no prizes, just my eternal thanks.

What are you trying to find out?

You'll get big differences from people on different phone networks or WiFi connections. You might want to ask for the method of connection as well as the time...

You are right Badger, I'm not in the First World so I should think my connection, which is 3G and not wireless may well be different to the average UK user. Also I bookmarked Threads I'm On...

About the same as Brassick for me. Certainly less than 90 secs. And I'm on BT Broadband, for the record.

I'm on a 3G too and mine took 4 minutes 14.82 seconds - that's on Orange wifi. A lot of that ( over a minute) was my iPhone starting up though

Did you mean to switch phone OFF or to start from standby? I switched mine all the way off (which I never actually do, so it's not a terribly useful measure).

iPad took 1 minute 33.7 seconds on wifi.

OK - took me over 2 minutes. But I turned my phone right off, had to enter the password (which I got wrong in my haste Blush), and then I wasn't logged into MN so had to go through that procedure as well.

Why are we doing this?!

I have an iphone 4, safari is always on MN and no password.

That is from switched off.
