My laptop is in its death throes, and I'm planning to replace it with a desktop (I don't really need a laptop, and I don't want to spend another £1100 on one, only to have to throw it in the bin three years later
). Anyway..... Not sure what to buy, and wondering if anyone has any advice? I've had a Dell in the past, which I was very happy with, and I've heard good things about their customer support, but I've no strong feelings on brand.
The things I use it for are mainly:
- general Office tasks
- lots of email and general internet
- large itunes library
- photo storage
- iplayer (though planning to get a PS3 so this will become less relevant)
- a bit of gaming, but mainly strategy-type stuff, so want good but not phenomenal graphics and memory
I'm basically looking for something pretty decent but not top of the range. I guess I'm expecting to spend somewhere between £500 and £750 (incl. screen and keyboard), but I'm not really sure.....
Can anyone recommend something that fits the bill?
Thanks!
