SMS delivery reports

Can anyone tell me why my phone says delivered on a text message when it hasn't been delivered?
I am definatelly sending to the correct number and even replying to a message sent to me. I can receive texts from my friend but they can't recieve mine even though my delivery report says it has been delivered. What is going on? Anyone got any idea?

Perhaps the delivery report does not mean it was delivered to the end user... but was delivered to your mobile operators message centre.

Is your handset supplied by your mobile operator? Is the Message Centre number still correct for the network you are on?
