I have a fairly old laptop (Dell Inspiron 1300) all in working order and has windows 7 installed on it, and want to be able to go online with it and it doesn't have built in wireless. Can I buy just any USB adapter to connect to my BT HomeHub, or does it need to be some specific make? Can't find anything online about it. As you can probably tell, I have not got the first idea about anything technical, so would appreciate any help. Many thanks in advance.

hiya i bought one on recommendation, i am not very techy but it it works so easily. just plugs into your laptop, or in my case i needed it for my home pc.

you jhust install the software from the disc. I didn't install the part where it asks if you want to install the programme, ie the bit that will allow you to access your hub, just the basic driver.

it was about a fiver on ebay!!

Thanks for replying Smile I had a look on eBay but none of it means a thing to me, it's all strings of letters and numbers but nothing I've read seems to explicitly say 'all of them will work with all computers' so I'm a bit put off buying one without knowing for sure it will work IYSWIM. They seem to cost about £20 in shops, so maybe I should risk buying one for a fiver off eBay anyway. Hmmmmm.
