Why does Shockwave Flash crash in Chrome and how do I fix it?

It does it from time to time, meaning I can't use YouTube and stuff but I don't know what causes it nor how to fix it. A quick Google has not helped and I am not techie enough to underdstand the more complicated pages.

I have reinstalled Shockwave Flash but that didn't make difference.

Can anyone help?

Am using Chrome in Vista. Shockwave worked yesterday but not today. Nothing has changed (afaik)

Shockwave Test Page

Flash Version Display

I am running Flash version 10,1,82,76 on Chrome running on Vista. No issues with it.

Are you running the same version?

Neither of those pages will load properly... because you need Flash to view them properly but when I checked earlier, I was using the most up to date versions of Chrome & Flash. It failed this morning, worked this afternoon for a bit and has crashed again Angry

It works in IE & Firefox though

Have you tried removing Chrome and reinstalling it again.

Bit hard to know what's wrong... Flash and Shockwave are working on your system - as they work in IE and Firefox. It's just the extension for Chrome that's playing up.

Yes, have found it odd that sometimes Chrome suggests I need to install Flash, and then goes ahead a couple of seconds later and starts playing something where it had been telling me to install Flash. No doubt they will be looking at it, but annoying all the same.

Yes, is odd. And more strange that it works in chrome for a while then decides not too but if I close Chrome and reopen it, it starts working again. It's just irritating and is making me go back to using Firefox.
