Sat Nav apps for IPhone?

Getting upgraded to iphone in a couple of weeks.

Also need sat nav.

Should I buy a separate Sat Nav or are the apps on iphone any good? Know I have to buy a Tom Tom kit for iphone and it is available at Argos. Is it straight forward? Which is best app?

Many thanks.

A friend has TomTom for iPhone & says it's great. Costs something like 48£? So far cheaper than proper SatNav. However don't have it myself so can't comment really on how good it is, just passing my friend's opinion.

It's not as good, but we have skobbler for emergency sat nav use on the iphone - it's £1.19 so significantly cheaper Grin

However, if you're going to be using it all the time - probably worth paying for TomTom. CoPilot is also supposed to be a reasonably good compromise at £20.

TomTom isn't perfect either mind, it completely messes up with the one way system in Enfield...

Interesting review of the main three iphone apps here:

Can the CoPilot Navigation App topple TomTom?

Note that the prices are out of date, but interesting the comments on the map data - we've certainly found that with our stand alone TomTom unit that the map data can be a bit crap.

Have co pilot live, which I really like. It has good diagrams and pictures.
