can't view MPEG4 file using windows media player

Hi - hope someone can help me with this. Have got a new Sony camera and can upload images and video onto my laptop fine. I can also view the photos using Windows, but am unable to view the video footage using Windows media player, the file is MPEG4. Do I need to download anything else to view the video files? TIA

Try VLC Player it plays almost anything.

VLC can play just about anything:

Great - thanks. Have just done a google search and Final Media Player also came up - is this any good? TIA

Never heard of Final Media Player. Googled it... seems to be similar to VLC.
