Htc desire questions and help please

Thanks to all the ravers on here I am excitedly charging my new htc desire. I ummed and ahhed for ages and decided to ditch 3, I had rubbish reception here at home and have plumped for a deal with orange. I get 500mb of data per month. I thought I understood what that meant and thought is was referring to downloads and not simply browsing which I thought I could do as much as I wanted. Having googled a bit I really don't understand what it means at all. Could someone explain it to me very slowly so I might understand please?! I'm probably worrying about nothing as I only plan a bit of fb and mumsnet of course. Just a bit of browsing here and there.

My other question is how do I transfer my contacts list onto my new phone? I don't mind doing it manually, would give me a chance to edit but if I can do it easily that would be great.

thanks everyone.

I've got an iphone, but I'm sure it works the
same way. You copy all of your contacts from your old phone onto your SIM card. Then put your SIM into the new phone and copy them onto your new phone.

(the man in the shop did this for me btw - I'm not techno geek)

I have all my contacts on Outlook on my PC (I work from home) so when the phoned synched with my PC it uploaded them there and I could edit them.

(DOn't know about the roaming thing, I'm watching though cos I have a simialr question)

thanks potplant. So I put my old sim in my new phone is that right? I try but I am so hopeless. Feel like my mum more and more these days.

Yes - I think he copied all contacts onto my old SIM and then copied all of those contacts onto the phone.

My iphone came with a new SIM which is why I just couldn't use the old one.
