iphone and disappearing texts

Dh has an iphone. Quite an old one. 2nd edition probably. Sometimes when he gets a text he can read it and then it completely disappears. Texts from a handful of random people always stay in his inbox but most just fly away into cyber space. Does anyone know why this might be? He got a text from ds aged 12 today at a concert with friends with a photo attached and when he came to show me it had gone. I really wold love to see it. Your thought iphoners please

whats a second edition? all i know are 3g, 3gs and 4

no idea about the texts, ive never had that problem. but, since i did the software upgrade, ive lost 600 of my 700 pictures. gone, vanished, vamoosed. and not an entire block from thebegingin or end. its kept one from each picture taking session. very odd

How annoying ladysybil. I'm not sure which one he has. It's his second though and obviously is different to his first which was the first one that came out. How can I tell? I think it's the second one they brought out. How hopeless does that sound! He totally under uses it. He needs a tutorial.

I've never heard of or come across this problem before but if you are in reach of an Apple Store the people there are incredibly helpful and appear to live to sort issues like this out. Or you could steel yourself to delve into the Apple.com forums you might find something there.

or, and this is what i did because yourbe wouldnt work for me. i went back to carphone warehouse, with whom i had originally bought my original phone contract six years ago. nice man there sorted it out. ive found that sometimes the helpless female thing isnt mearely an act, and it gets things done far quicker than trying to delve through a gazillion webpages

is it rounded? or square? if square, its the new iphone 4. if rounded, it will be the 3gs. and yes, a tutorial is usally a good idea.

No def not iphone 4. He had the original and then upgraded last year. Rounded so must be 3g. He makes me cross because it's £35 per month for a glorified ipod. He claims to be too busy to take it in anywhere to sort it out and he never understands what people are trying to explain to him. Hopelessly untechnical. As usual if I want something done have to do it myself!

take it off him, and use it yourself.
an iphone is not a mobile phone. its a mobile computer, and needs to be treated as such. 35 pounds a month for that isnt excessive imo. for a simple phone perhaps, but not this.

Yes it is the 3g. I agree Lady Sybil it is wasted on him. However I have just got an htc desire otherwise I might have nabbed it.
