Basically that's it

I was working on my laptop in the car & it offered me this as a sign on - is it safe?

Looks safe?

BTFON

At first glance it seems like a you share yours and I'll share mine type scheme. I'd be a bit wary tbh and read up on the FAQs, especially with the new Digital Economy Bill...

Mind our bandwidth is so fricking crap where we are, there's no way in hell I'm sharing any of it with anyone else - it's slow enough as it is!

NetworkGuy · 22/07/2010 22:24

It is automatically turned on for every BT Broadband wireless - I can 'see' 3 BTFON networks in my street alone. Using the map on the btfon.com site showed about 30 on my (small) estate.

Have never tried it, so don't know how well it works, but no doubt it is handy if you are a private detective in the middle of nowhere and need to check some details / send an e-mail !

How do you get on and off it? How do you log in?
I used to get good, fast wifi in cafe Nero but it's been replaced by this bt fon shite.
I know I can disable wireless on my iPhone 3GS but it's annoying!
Wish I could block bt fon website, think it's possible!?
