Hi
Has anyone out there done this with an iPhone? I am thinking of trying this with my 2 dd in order to encourage them to go on walks in the summer hols. There is the official Grounspeak app which I can download a free trial of or there is a straightforward GPS app that is quite cheap. Which would you recommend? Thanks

I geocache with my shit nokia so I reckon a basic gps woudl work fine!
I use google earth to get a good idea of where I should be and then look on gps if I can't find it, but I have found 2 without needing to use my phone, only needed it for 1.
How old are your dd's? Mine are 2 and 4 and the 4 year old ran all over the park to find a box and take an Ikea pencil

I have used the ViewRanger trial with my Nokia and it was quite good. They now have an iPhone version so worth downloading. The trial is for 16 days, so download just before you go on holiday. I think the trial came with 4 map tokens - you use a token to download part of a map. So once on holiday, download 4 grid squares which cover your walking area.
