PowerPoint is pants. Download a free trial of Iworks, KeyNote the Apple equivalent is sooooo much better and easier.

specialsmasher · 18/07/2010 12:55

Oh! Thanks. Never thought of that! Will I have to hand over card details to get the trial? I'm always rubbish at stopping things in time if I do...

No, no need for that. 'tis a 30 day trail and then offers the option to buy when it runs out. The whole package is fab, Pages much better than Word too...

Thanks - will have a look now!

Hi, just in case -

DTD is right, it is rubbish, especially in Mac. However, FWIW:

  • Highlight the lines you want to affect or just go to the slide/s
  • Go to Slide Show in menu > preset animations > Click on Fade in, or Appear, or Dissolve

The Windows version is much better as you have more control and can detail it more. For example, once you have chosen to dissolve/fade in the lines or the slide itself, you can then choose how fast you want them to dissolve or fade in - fast, medium or slow, IYSWIM.

Anyway, I tend to find any and all Windows apps work less well on a Mac as they have been re-purposed, so when I have to use those apps I try to create them in a PC if I can, and then later edit in Mac.

Enjoy!
xx

Oh thanks! I did download iworks and I can't work out how to do it there either! Though it does look pretty and I will work out how to do it properly (thanks, DTD!) - that is very useful though, as I need to do it quickly!

Thanks so much - off to try

Still can't do it! There is 'custom animations' under slideshow, but I can't see what to do!

I'm so dumb. Losing heart here!

There should be a tutorial here.

You're very kind!
