IPod left in water for a few hours! Repairable??

If i wish to contact Apple to ask this question I will have to pay for 'per-incident support' so i thought I'd ask here first .

I, mistakenly of course, left DD's Ipod Nano immersed in a bucket of water (don't ask please) for a few hours and now, not surprisingly, it won't work.

Might it be repairable is my question or do i need to get her another one before she finds out? I have already tried placing it in a bag with lots of rice and putting it in the airing cupboard for a few days but to no avail.

my ipod was dropped in the bath by the moron i call DH it works but battery life is now poo and the back light doesnt work on it.

i put mine on a towel on the radiator for a few days and dried it out.

it may still work but wont be the same again...sorry

i would maybe bite the bullet and tell DD and buy her the new style ipod nano video...that will make it all better
