Why is my scanner scanning a single image in parts?

Heeeeelp

My scanner seems to be breaking up the page I'm trying to scan into lots of little pictures, but not helpful pictures that I could reconstruct an entire page from.

Any ideas?

It's probably because it's recognising it as text and breaking it down into bits to read it and turn it into a text document instead of a picture. A lot of scanner software has OCR capability (optical character recognition) and will attempt to work out whether it's looking at a picture or text, and go into OCR mode if it reckons it's text. That's what I think yours has done, and to get round it you need to tell it that it's looking at an image, not text. As there are as many scanner software packages as there are scanners, it's difficult to tell you exactly what to do, but I reckon this is the source of the problem
