What has happened to my sunflower ?

planted the seeds a bit late so it's only about 4 foot tall but was doing really well. Went out today and most of the leaves have completely wilted. Snails have been at some of the bottom leaves but not all of them and I watered it yesterday so it's not heat exhaustion. Any ideas? DS will be gutted if it doesn't flower.

Probably is heat exhaustion if not watered since yesterday.

katierocket, I will send you one of mine. DD planted a whole packet of sunflower seeds this year. My garden looks like a Vitalite advert. They do need lots of water, I water mine twice a day.

ok cripes, really? it's the first time it's wilted like this.

i managed to grow some this year too( first time i have managed it without killing them!!!) I moved some from the pot in the kitchen to the garden and they got promptly eaten by something(prob cat). I have 5 mini ones however that are flowering in the pot on the sill in the kitchen.
