Little black bugs

Little beetley things have appeared on our lemon tree and blackberry flowers... have uploaded a picture to my profile.

We are rubbish at newcomers to gardening. Does anyone know what they are and what to do about them?

Oooh, I want to know too, they are all over my pumpkin flower.

linspins · 30/06/2010 21:56

bump?

Pip51 · 02/07/2010 20:27

They are on my courgette flowers. At the moment they don't seem to be doing any damage.

BCBG · 02/07/2010 20:34

They are storm beetles - totally harmless and will go away when the weather changes, honestly. They are attracted to the colour yellow first, that's why they are on the courgette and pumpkin flowers. If you have a yellow cloth/bucket etc and put that out they will congregate on that and not your plants. They aren't a pest.

Thanks BCBG. Glad I don't have to worry about them.
Now just got to work out what to do with the squillions of blackfly that are all over my runner beans....
