Any excellent recommendations for allotment books???

Hiya I'm a complete beginner but am getting an allotment soon. I really really need a great book on growing fruit and veg for an allotment can anybody help??

Grow Your Own Vegetables by Joy Larkcom. No fancy pictures but everything you could possibly need to know, also has month by month guide plus a vegetable by vegetable guide.

I have the book Takver has linked to which is helping a lot in my first year as an allotmenteer. I've had various others out the library but it's the Joy Larkom book I always go back to. Good luck with it.

this beautiful book here is my most-used for veg types and ideas. It gets lent out regularly.

For growing advice, I ask the blokes on the allotments!!

RHS has just published an new book called the Allotment Handbook www.rhs.org.uk/Gardening/Grow-Your-Own/Books-and-links which is a good read...

Ooh, I gave the RHS Allotment Handbook to a friend as a present recently and he loved it - the book that is I am just looking forward to receiving my thanks in produce later in the year now - particularly as my own PSB seems to be growing awry! You could also check out the fab RHS iphone app...
