How much for garden help?

I'm trying to find a gardener to help out in our new house. We're based near Oxford. What would be an appropriate hourly rate? I just have no idea. I've got one quote at 25pounds an hour which seems very expensive to me......? TIA

I think it depends what you want done in the garden. Go to the local newsagents and see if there are any ads for help there.

I think £10 per hour or a daily rate is even better. That way you wont get anyone taking advantage.

That's a good idea, I'll do that. Yes 10 pounds an hour seems a lot more what I was thinking!
