weed taming patio sand

It's like the Forth Bridge. By the time I've finished weeding one end of the patio, the weeds have sprouted the other end. Can't use weedkiller because of small kids, pets, wildlife but I read about a special sand that you pour into the spaces where the weeds were, that stops them growing. it was called something like Dansand. Now I can't find it. Has anyone heard of it or something similar?

Sorry, never heard of it, but try getting a weed burner.

They're brilliant and I'm almost evangelical about them. No bad chemicals and much easier than weeding...

pour boiling water from kettle(obviously whilst kids aren't about) slowly for about 15 seconds over the worst offenders
