Best website for buying plants?

Hi there,

Can anyone recommend a good website for buying some plants please?

I want a couple of evergreen clematis (armandii) and also some ornamental grasses. Have been to a few nurseries around my way and none of them have either in!

I've never ordered plants from the internet before, so if anyone has any tips/good websites, that would be much appreciated!

Thanks :-)

Crocus is great. Has a wonderful selection and they deliver very promptly. Its normally a bit pricey but there is a discount with Gardeners World mag at the moment that gives 20 percent off. Can get the code for you if you're interested.

Hi taffetacat,

I've just been looking at crocus and it looks fab! Have decided to get a trach(something) jasminoides (sp?) instead and they do a lovely one :-)

If you could let me know the discount code, that would be very much appreciated :-)

Thank You

Any suggestions for plant websites that would deliver abroad (but still within EU)?

I hadn't realised how good British garden centres/websites were before I moved to the continent. The range of plants/varieties/seeds and everything else much much more limited (and expensive) here...

Pannacotta · 04/06/2010 21:52

Other good websites which are less expensive are
www.plantsforshade.co.uk/
www.woottensplants.co.uk/ www.binnyplants.co.uk/
www.mailorder.crug-farm.co.uk/default.aspx
www.harveysgardenplants.co.uk/catalogue.asp
www.hardybamboo.com/
www.callygardens.co.uk/index.html
www.claireaustin-hardyplants.co.uk/

Some will send plants abroad, details are listed on each site...

Oh and www.cottage-garden-plants.co.uk/ who will definitely despatch to Europe glacierchick.

I second the comments about Crocus - I'm a huge fan and have used them many times. It can be pricey, but the quality of the plants is excellent and they do very good sales.
