another really daft beginners question

are primulas annuals? mine have died back, and I could do with using the pots for my tomatoes. I assume they won't come back next year????

google inconclusive because I don't know what variety I've got

Mine flower every year, had them 10 years now.

They never die back though, maybe yours are actually dead

I foolishly planted positioned them in full sun and they are frazzled (yes, I know about the shade thing now). I might leave half in as experiment, and bin the rest to free up the pots.

I move my primulas around all the time, they are eminently transportable. If you need the pots, why not transplant them to a bed if you have one.
