what has eaten my seedlings?

i have started trying to grow stuff this year, got a variety of seedlings out in a 'greenhouse'- one of those metal shelves sets with a plastic zip cover. Cos it was so hot last couple of days I have left it open at the front. I noticed today that 3 of the pots were emptied- soil, seedling and all! It was either Holyhock or Basil. Squirrels? Mice?

Toddlers?

Cats? Mine ate basil, coriander and parsley seedlings. I'm hoping they might take a fancy to the chilis when they start fruiting, that'll teach 'em.

toddelers a definate possibility, although I would have expected to find the soil etc somewhere...and also they were the pots at the back and all put back in the right place. Very odd

prob slug or snail. they ate lots of my stuff last year at the back. I think they climb up the plastic.

Something also ate my outdoor seeds - birds, mice, squirrels, rats!, not sure. I have concocted some netting made of old netbags that held oranges, held down with barbecue sticks to which I have attached string with foil paper which dangles and blows about in the breeze. This has worked surprisingly! I have also dug out some of DD's windmill types toys which rotate even on days like today. So far so good
