Need advice - climbing plant

Hey all. I need to divide my garden up so the dog can't get on the lawn and crap all over it. Rather than build a fence, I thought I might put some sort of trellis up with a gate and then grow something on it so it looks pretty and not just like a stupid fence to keep the dog out. So my question - what can I grow that: a)will grow fast b)will give some colour in summer c)won't go mad meaning I have to prune it every 5 mins d) is evergreen (couldn't bear it looking all scrappy in the winter.) I might need 2 or 3 things as the trellis will need to be about 150ft...thanks

PS Forgot to say the garden is south facing and very sunny

I would go for a couple of different things - anything that grows quickly is going to go mad so you can't have it both ways Passionflower and honeysuckle are both quick growing and evergreen but you will have to cut them back although if you've got 150ft it's going to take a while before you would need to cut them back. You could grow a couple of different clematis through them too so that you've got lots of different seasons of colour - there are early spring/winter flowering ones/late spring and ones that flower at different points over the summer too - you wouldn't notice them dying back if you have a framework of something else underneath. I have a honeysuckle with a clematis montana growing through it - at the moment the honeysuckle is just leaves but the montana is in full bloom and looks glorious. Most spring flowering clematis don't need pruning.
