I recently bought a new rose- white knight I think it is called. I have planted it and watered in. It is planted in soil with a gravel topping.
Been a few weeks now and it is still all twigs. Hasnt appeared to have changed at all.
I am a newbie so I'm not sure what is going on or what to do. I was thinking maybe giving it a feed to boost it? Or do I just leave it? Another rose is planted near it- could it be the established rose taking all the nutrients?

Sorry for the questions... I just want a pretty rose!

Many TIA

Lola

It could all be fine and I am just rather impatient!

Has it put on any new shoots at all? Even a newly planted rose should now be showing signs of growth....

sometimes they do take quite a while before they start to make shoots.Look at the branches and see if there are tiny buds beginning to form anywhere,at first they look as brown and twiggy as the stems but then they grow bigger and greener.Or it may be dead! Food is always a good idea if it looks at all alive.

Just asked my dh, who said to make sure it is watered, but not over-watered, and wait.

He did say that it should be showing some signs of life by now though......

can you fork in some manure round it, maybe some blood fish and bone too? a bit of toprose for good measure and then give it a wateringcanful of water. if there's no sign after a week of any shoots, you may need to get another.....

Hmm - wherever you bought it should replace it for you. Doesn't sound good to me.
