can i grow raspberry canes against a house wall?

or blackberries? did you do it? does it look good?

I've got raspberry canes against a garden wall. It seems to work for us. The retained heat from the bricks protects them from the frosts and gets them going sooner and the fruit ripen quicker.

Not sure about how they look though. They get chopped down every autumn so they're not exactly decorative plants.
