Can you recommend some good secateurs?

Can you help?
My dad who is one of those annoyingly difficult dads to buy birthday presents for has expressed a need for new secateurs.
I have a cheapy pair from Homebase so am clueless in this matter and am relying upon the wisdom of MN>
TIA

As far as I'm concerned Felco are the best available and come in different sizes depending on hand size. I love mine anyway.

I have some great Gardena ones. They can be adjusted to different hand sizes which is fab.

Would second Felco. They are the best.

ShellingPeas · 19/04/2010 19:27

Third for Felco. I've had the same pair for almost 20 years now and they're still going strong.

Brilliant,
Thanks all
Will have a look. Maybe even venture to the garden centre

Steady on OliviaMN. No need to get so far out of comfort zone.

Pannacotta · 19/04/2010 19:49

Also agree on Felco...

LadyBiscuit · 19/04/2010 19:50

Definitely Felco. If you watch gardening programmes, you will see all the presenters have them. They mark you out as a 'proper' gardener

Another vote for Felco. Mine are still going strong 20 years after I bought them. One of very few tools that I never lose, as well.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 19/04/2010 20:53

Another Felco vote. My brother gave them to me a few years, best present he has ever given me.
