Is it too late to prune a vine?

I have just realised that the vine I bought last year (grape) should have been pruned back to about 18 inches in Feb. Is it too late to do it now it's in bud?

Yes, its too late, leave it till autumn once it has dropped its leaves.

yes, it will bleed. The next thing to do in a couple of months is count two nobbles along from each flower/grape bunch then break off the tendril.

Drastic pruning will have to wait till next winter.

Oh no! Our vine on our new allotment was hacked back when we took over back in March - it's not looking very healthy at the moment and is seeping. Have we ruined it????
