Should I be doing anything to my Daphne?

I'm not a great gardener, but I enjoy it and feel like it's something I'll 'grow into' .
We bought our house a few years ago and have gradually been establishing some flower beds. I planted a daphne two years ago and although it didn't seem very happy last year this year it's really come along and has been flowering a lot, and seems to have grown a lot too.
It just seems a bit 'open' or 'spread out' - I wondered whether I should have pruned it at all to make it more bushy?
Do you prune them? and if so, when? and how much?

If its happy I'd leave it, Daphnes are a bit fussy and said not to like pruning.
