Anyone got a really satisfying one? I want to blast our patio / the climbing frame / shitting cats

We have keracher one. TBH I hate it with a passion, it just sends all the muck elsewhere - up the window frames, round the edge of the lawn etc. Barely use it tbh and don't get me started on the ones for doing a shower with.

H'mmm.

We have a karcher that is about 15 years old and still going strong. Ironically, various accessories need relacing and when we priced them up recently we realised it is cheaper to buy a new one.
I've used it on the patio and paths and find it very satisfying. You do have to keep it moving or you will blast the actual path away
It does spray stuff everywhere, but when I am finished I use a normal hose to go over everything and that washes the loosened muck away

Oh they are soooo addictive and satisfying to use - but if you put it on narrowest / hardest setting you make marks THAT WILL NEVER GO...

aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 05/04/2010 19:38

PortBlacksandDweller, I used that settinf and wrote my name on the path(through the green scum). Unfortunately, when I had cleaned the rest my name was still there, cut into the cement.

I have all this black stuff on my garden 'tiles' and wonder what's the best way to get rid off them - is it with a pressure washer? do I need some special cleaning agent to go with it?

I've just spent a very satisfying afternoon cleaning our patio. Looks fantastic.
No idea of the make - borrowed my dad's.
Sorry. No help, I know! Just wanted to share!

babyOcho · 05/04/2010 21:40

We have the karcher as well. Had another one bfore (cannot remember which make) and it wasnt as good.

It does scare me a little, I am sure it can cut your hand open if you're not careful.

Sounds better and better!

Thanks all.

DH just bought a Stihl washer ... it's fantastic. Lifted the green off our patio no problem.

hillbilly · 06/04/2010 13:44

We borrowed a karcher one and did our flagstones yesterday.

Soooooooo satisfying!!! It's like a brand new garden.

maggiethecat · 07/04/2010 14:56

Hillybilly, I like the sound of a brand new garden - did you have to use any cleaning solution with it?

Fizzylemonade · 09/04/2010 20:29

We have a karcher, it came with a patio cleaning brush it spins so no effort involved, no spraying huge amounts of dirt up anything.

It has 2 different "wands" one that can strip paint and the other is adjustable so you can control the width of the spray -I use this one to clean wooden furniture after winter.

I think people just tend to buy one with the wand and then get carried away (reminds herself that husband decided to clean a bit of dirt off the shed, stripped the stain off so I repainted it)
